We are definitely optimistic for the season though.. We generally make a lot a syrup in April while other sugarhouses at lower elevations are done or making commercial grade syrup. We will keep our fingers crossed and hope we don't see any 60-70 degree days. right now we are between a third and a half crop.
The positive is that we are able to catch up on some sleep. i don't think we got more than 5 hours a night for about 10 days straight last week and were getting a little run down.
